Dodital Winter Trek Overview
The Dodital Winter Trek is somewhat unique as there are not many treks that provide the opportunity to hike for several days in snow. Another advantage of choosing Dodital as your winter trek is it has fixed campsites throughout the trail. All the campsites are easily accessible too. Dodital is a freshwater lake located in the Garhwal Uttarakhand. It serves as the primary source for the Assi Ganga river that merges downstream with Bhagirathi. From the trail towards the lake you will get outstanding view of Bandarpoonch and Swargarohini ranges. Dodital is one of the few treks in India that qualify for a true winter trek. Winter is one of the great times for Dodital trek as the entire region receives plenty of snowfall. During the trek you have to wear warm clothes all the time. The trails are all snowy and this may make trekking a bit tricky. However, if you are careful enough or have previous experience in winter trekking, Dodital Winter Trek can offer a serene and memorable experience.

Trek Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Dehradun Railway Station and Drive to Agoda village
Today you will be transported from Dehradun Railway Station to Agoda village via Uttarkashi town. Total journey will take around 7-8 hrs covering a distance of 160 km.
Day 2: Trek from Agoda village to Manji camp
On the first day your trek you will go to Manji camp via Bhebra. Manji campsite is located in dense forests, however the trees will be devoid of leaves and all covered in snow during your winter Dodital Trek. Here you will see huts of local people that they use during summer months. This 9 km trek will take 5-6 hour to complete. You will find a lot of snow at Majhi campsite.
Day 3: Trek from Manji Camp to Dodital Camp
Today you will go from Manji to Dodital on a snow covered trail. The trail to Dodital is around 5-6 km through thick forest and snow over on them offers an adorable views. The radius of the lake is around 1.5 km. This beautiful lake turns semi frozen in winters with a white sheet of powdered snow covering its surrounding trees. Dodital is considered as the birth place of God Ganesha. There is beautiful Temple of Lord Ganesha which is situated beside the Lake.
Day 4 : Dodital to Agoda village
Today you will trek all the way down to reach Agoda village. Again the hike will be on snow-laden trail giving you one last opportunity to treat your eyes with pristine snow. You will reach the village by evening and then celebrate the last night of trek.
Day 5: Agoda village to Dehradun
On the last day you will trek down to Agoda village and will be transferred to Dehradun via Mussoorie.
