Day 1 - Dehradun to Sankri
Today your journey begins from Dehradun to Sankri village via Damta, Purola, Mori, and Netwar alongside the Tons river. You will be accommodated in hotels or homestays here.
Day 2 - Sankri to Seema via Taluka
Today you will be initially transported to Taluka by car where the motorable road ends. The trek commences from Taluka commences alongside the gushing river Supin. You will come across the village of Gangad after a few hours. You will continue to hike to reach the quaint village of Osla that gives a glance into Garwahli culture. Seema is another village located opposite to Osla on the other side of the river where you will rest in the campsite.
Day 3 - Seema to Roiltia or Waterfall camp
From Seema village the trail will continue along the river Supin. Then you will ascend through deodar trees to a beautiful meadow called Devsu Thatch from where you will get sublime views of Swargarohini ranges and Kalanag (Black Peak) and Har Ki Dun Valley. After descending from the meadow, you will enter the Ruinsara valley where you will rest in the camp close to the waterfall locally known as Roiltigad or Roiltia.
Day 4 - Waterfall to Ruinsara lake
Even though today’s hike is short, you will observe drastic change in vegetation. Pine and fir trees will disappear and you will see birch and rhododendron trees. Then you will reach one of the highlights of the trek — Ruinsara Tal, surrounded by lush Rhododendron trees. You will be camping overnight near the lake.
Day 5 - Ruinsara lake - rest and explore
Today you will acclimatize all day by staying in the vicinity of Ruinsara lake. The small and pristine lake lies in a vast meadow with a wide variety of alpine flowers growing around the lake. The river Supin is situated 100 meters below the lake, next to a ridge. You can also hike towards the Banderpunch glacier or Kyarkoti which is the base camp for Kalanag and Dumdar Kandi pass for better acclimatization and then return to the camp in the evening.
Day 6 - Ruinsara lake to Bali Pass Basecamp
Today you will descend down to the river bed, cross the river and walk uphill to another beautiful meadow called Thanga. From there, you will soon reach Odari which litterally means a natural cave rock. You will camp below Bali Pass along a glacial moraine.
Day 7 - Bali Pass Basecamp to Lower Dhamni via Bali pass
This is the biggest day of the trek and it begins early as we will try and reach the summit by 8am. It is a short but steep climb to reach the Pass and you will encounter a lot of glacial scree during your hike. From the top of the pass you can see the Yamunotri valley and Banderpunch peaks as well as the summits of Dayara Bugyal, Barua Top and Dokrani Bamak. You then descend via a connecting ridge and reach the campsite of Upper Dhamni.
Day 8 - Lower Dhamni to Yamunotri to Janki Chatti
Today you will continue to descend further to a forested trail which leads you to the Yamunotri, pne of the temples in the Char Dham circuit dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. Then you will again continue to descend down to Janki Chatti. You will stay in the guesthouse there.
Day 9 - Drive from Janki Chatti to Dehradun
On this final day of the trek you will drive back to Dehradun via Kempty waterfalls, and Mussourie.
