Rudgaira Base Camp Trek is about reaching the base point of Mount Rudugaira which is located in the Rudu Valley of the Garhwal Himalayas. The Rudu Valley is famous for panoramic views of the Gangotri peaks. Rudgaira Base Camp is also the entry point for Auden’s Col Expedition. The trek to Rudugaira base camp begins from Gangotri. From Gangotri, you will trek through picturesque valleys, dense forests, and glacial streams before reaching the base camp of Rudugaira peak. The approach to the Base Camp is a narrow trail through birch forests and along the Rudra Ganga river. Rudgaira Base Camp Trek itself is a picturesque one and a perfect choice for beginners and experienced trekkers.

Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Dehradun to Gangotri
Today you will start our long drive to Gangotri from Dehradun. After reaching, you will be introduced with fellow trekkers and get a briefing about the next day. Then you will rest so that you are fresh for the next few days.
Day 2: Gangotri to Nala Camp
On your first day of Rudgaira Base Camp Trek, you will gain an altitude close to 350mt. The trail runs through dense Birch forests till crossing the nala. After that, the tree line will recede and you will enter meadows that offer magnificent views of Gangotri III and Jogin II peaks.
Day 3: Nala Camp to Rudragaira Base Camp
Today you will gain almost 700mt height gain. In the beginning the trail will be fairly easy through the meadows. Then there will be steep climb on grassy land which will lead us to the traditional base camp for Rudugaira Peak. During the trek to the Rudgaira Base Camp, you will come across the beautiful flowers of different species, and high altitude crow, and Ibex (Mountain Goat).
Day 4: Base camp to Gangotri
Today is a long day as you will make a steep descent all the down to Gangotri by late afternoon. Evening is for leisure and sharing experiences and tales of the trail in the evening.
Day 5: Gangotri to Dehradun
Being the last day of the trek, today you will be dropped at Dehradun station after a long journey of 8-10hours covering 240km.
