Kyarkoti Trek Overview
Kyarkoti trek is an amazing trek in Harsil Valley in Uttarkashi Uttarakhand which is one of the least explored destinations in Garhwal Uttarakhand. Harsil valley is known for lush green meadows, serene lake, and snow-covered mountain ranges. Apart being a beautiful offbeat Garhwal trek, another significance of this trek route is it is the same route for Lamkhaga pass trek. The trail is well suited for experienced trekkers for its steep gradients, however, the varied landscapes do compensate for the hardship. Kyarkoti trek offers stunning views of Mount Shrikant and many other unnamed beautiful peaks. Trekkers walk along the alpine forest consists of Cedar, Pine and Birch trees and cross numerous little streams during the trek. Treks may also come across large herds of sheep and goats, ibex and Langur (black-headed monkeys). The emerald green waters of the Kyarkoti lake and the Bugyal Ghatiya river and lovely flowers are the key attractions of Kyarkoti trek.

Trek Itinerary
Day 1 - Pick up from Dehradun Station & Drive to Harsil – 231 km)( 8/9 Hours) (overnight stay Hotel)
On the first day, you will be picked up from Dehradun railway station and you will reach Harsil after covering a distance of 231 km in 8 to 10 Hours. On arrival you will get to know about your team, and about the plan of the journey you will take from the next day onwards.
Day 2 – Trek from Harsil to Lowar Kyarkoti Camp (Gangnani) (08 km) (5/6 Hours) (3000 m)
The trek will start with flat trails and then steep ascent after a while. You’ll come across Lal Devta Mandir half-way. After the steep climb, flat trails will come again till your trek ends at the campsite of Gangnani.
Day 3 – Trek from Lowar kyarkoti camp to Upper Kyarkoti (07 km) (4/5 Hours) (3480 m)
Today you will trek to Kyarkoti through numerous lush grasslands. The trails will have gradual ascents and descents which will be moderately difficult but not too strenuous. After arriving Kyarkoti you will relax for the rest of the day.
Day 4 - Rest Day – Exploration Kyaroti Lake and Lamkhaga Pass Trail back to Camp
Today you will first go for a hike to Lamkhaga Pass base camp from here you can witness nearby mountain peaks. During your hike to Lamkhaga Pass base camp, you will come across the alluring Kyarkoti lake. After spending some lovely time at the base camp site, we will start our hike back to the Upper Kyarkoti camp.
Day 5- Trek from upper Kyarkoti to Lowar kyarkoti Camp (07 km) (3/4 Hours) overnight stay Camp
Our return journey will start from today. You will follow the same trail in the reverse order and reach you took to reach Gangnani.
Day 6- Trek from Lowar kyarkoti Camp to Harsil (8km) (4/5 Hours) overnight stay Hotel
Today we will get back to the starting point of the trek. It will be an easy day as you continue to descend back to Harsil. Upon arrival in Harsil, you will have all day to brush off the fatigue due to the long walks of the trek. You can spend the evening wandering around the village of Harsil as well.
Day 7- Drive from Harsil to Dehradun 231 km (8/9 Hours)
Today will be the last of the trek. After breakfast, you get your luggage ready and after checking out you will embark on another long journey back to Dehradun.
