Har Ki Dun Trek is one of the most famous treks in the Garhwal Uttarakhand. The valley of Har Ki Dun is rich in Flora and Fauna. This valley is connected to Baspa Valley in the Kinnaur region of Himachal Pass through Borasu Pass. When you embark on this trek you will be mesmerized by the exquisite charm of the valley. Apart from the beauty of the valley that changes colour in every season you will also get a glimpse of the traditional Garhwali culture and hospitality as you will come across remote communities enroute. Har Ki Dun Trek offers stunning views of Jaundhar glacier, Swargarohini group of peaks , Bandarpoonch peak, and Black peak. The trek is suitable for both beginners and experienced trekkers.

Trek Itinerary

Day – 1: Dehradun to Sankri
On the first day you will be transported from from Dehradun to Sankri via popular places like Mussoorie, Nainbagh, Damta and Purola towns of Uttarakhand. Sankri lies in the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary of the Uttarkashi district from where you can see four peaks in the Swargarohini range. Upon reaching, you will be accommodated in a hotel.
Day – 2: Sankri to Pouni Gharat via Taluka
Today your trek will start after a short drive to Taluka. From there the trail passes through dense forests and beautiful water streams. You may also come across some wild animals like Barking Deer and Bores on your way to Dharkot. After Dharkot the trail becomes rocky and you will continue to hike alongside Supin river on your left. You will Pauni Garaat by evening spend the night at the campsite.
Day – 3: Pouni Gharat to Bhoslo
Today will be a tough yet thrilling day. You will have to encounter steep climb on your way to Boslo. From the trail you will witness snow-capped mountains, cascading waterfalls, gorgeous green pastures, wild animals like Blue Sheep and Himalayan Langur. When you will reach the campsite of Boslo you may also see birds like mountain fiches, flycatchers and Buntings.
Day – 4: Bhoslo to Har ki dun and explore Manida lake and return to Bhoslo
Today you will trek to the valley of God and stroll around the lush green meadow soaking in the charm of the landscape surrounded by snow clad mountains and glaciers. Then you will hike a bit farther to visit the stunning Maninda Lake. After spending some time enjoying the beauty of the lake you will hike back to the campsite of Boslo.
Day - 5: Bhoslo to Sankri
Today you will trek back to Sankri from Boslo following the same trail via dense forests. After reaching Sankri you will stay in a homestay or hotel.
Day 6: Sankri to Dehradun
On the last of the trek, you will head back to Dehradun from Sankri by car. Total journey will take around 6-8 hours covering a distance of close to 200 km.
