Panch Kedar Tour

Panch Kedar Tour

Panch Kedar Tour Overview

After Char Dham, Panch Kedar is the most popular pilgrim site circuit in garhwal Uttarakhand. The holy circuit of Panch Kedar starts from Kedarnath and continues to Tungnath, Rudranath, Madhyamaheshwar and finally ends at Kalpeshwar. The entire stretch reflects the mythology of the Mahabharata. When Pandavas were searching for Lord Shiva, He turned himself into a bull called Nandi to avoid detection. However, when Bheema tried to capture the bull, He submerged into the earth and later reappeared in five locations, presently known as Panch Kedar in pieces. The hump appeared at Kedarnath, the arms appeared in Tungnath, the mid-torso with navel appeared in Madhyamaheshwar, the face showed up at Rudranath and the hair and head appeared in Kalpeshwar. The Pandavs built temples at these five places for worshiping Shiva. Located at various astounding heights ranging from 2200m of Kalpeshwar to 3600m of Tungnath; Panch Kedar Yatra is a highly celebrated pilgrimage circuit in the Himalayan region of Uttarakhand. The Yatra not only covers the five shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva but also allows you to get acquainted with the remote villages like Kalgot, Mandal, Gaundhar exuding an ancient charm. Panch Kedar religious tour offers immense opportunity to be blessed with the heavenly sight of snow capped peak, the dense forest, serene lakes, lush green meadows, and meandering rivers rolling down the valleys.
