Nandanvan Vasuki Taal Trek is located in the Gangotri National Park. This trek will take you to the vicinity of some of the most iconic peaks of the Garhwal Uttarakhand like Shivling, Bhagirathi, Meru, Satopanth, Manda,Chandra etc. All the campsites of this trek offer stupendous views of mountains. When you undertake Nandanvan Vasuki Taal Trek you will traverse through Gangotri Glacier and Chaturangi Glacier. Another unforgettable experience of this trek would be camping by the Vasuki Tal. This trek is suitable for experienced trekkers only for its tricky terrain.

Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Dehradun to Gangotri
Today you will be transported to Gangotri from Dehradun. It will be a long journey of 8-10 hours. Upon reaching Gangotri your accommodation will be arranged in a hotel or homestay.
Day 2: Trek from Gangotri to Chirbasa camp
Today your trek will start from Gangotri and your destination will be Chirwasa. Initially the climb will be steep then you will ascend gradually on a forest trail to reach Chirwasa campsite where you will see an abundance of Pine trees. From Chirwasa campsite, you will get spectacular view of Bhagirathi peaks.
Day 3: Trek from Chirwasa to Bhojwasa
Today you leave the tree line behind as you approach Bhojwasa. The trail goes through many landslide prone areas so you have to negotiate carefully. The campsite of Bhojwasa is on a plain terrain beside Bhagirathi River. Once you reach the campsite you will enjoy the beautiful sunset, last rays of the sun on Bhagirathi peaks.
Day 4: Bhojbasa to Nandanvan
Today the hike will continue along the Bhagirathi river till you reach Gaumukh which is the snout of the Gangotri glacier. Then you will leave the river behind and climb up on glacial moraine and traverse for a few hours to reach the meadows of Nandanvan located at the base of the Bhagirathi peaks. From Nandanvan you will get magnificent view of the majestic Shivling peak , Meru, Kedardome & Kedarnath peaks.
Day 5: Nandanvan to Vasukital
Today you will hike for about an hour and half to reach a deep gorge which is eroded by the Vasuki glacier. Then you will descend into the glacier and then after a steep climb you can see the Vasuki tal. Then you will descend for a short while to reach Vasuki Tal base camp, at the foot of the north-west ridge of the Vasuki Parbat. From the campsite you will get great of views of the Meru and Bhrigupanth.
Day 6: Vasukital to Bhojwasa
Today you will hike back to Bhojwasa via Gaumukh from Vasuki Tal campsite. It will be a long but relatively easier walk and you will reach Bhjowasa by evening.
Day 7: Bhojwasa to Gangotri
Today will be your last hike as you will trek back to to Gangotri. It will be another long day when you have to continuously descend and reach Gangotri via Chirwasa.
Day 8: Gangotri to Dehradun
On the last day of the trek you will get back to Dehradun from Gangotri. The long drive will take around 8-10 hours covering a distance of approximately 280 km
